An archery scoring app built around real practice
Arrow Tempo is an archery scoring app for iPhone (iOS 17+) and Apple Watch (watchOS 10+). The watch counts every arrow automatically while you shoot; on the iPhone you score your ends, track X-count and averages, and watch every arrow blend onto a single heat-mapped target over weeks. Free to download on the App Store.
Scoring that takes seconds, not minutes
Scoring an end is drag-to-place: hold a shot row, the target face drops in, and you drag each arrow to where it landed. Scores use the standard 10 and X rings, distance and arrows-per-end are configurable, and warmup arrows are tagged separately so they don't pollute your averages. Each session keeps the full breakdown — score, X-count, per-arrow detail — indefinitely.
The signature heatmap
Every scored arrow plots back onto one target, heat-blended over weeks of practice. A low-left drift you'd never notice arrow-by-arrow becomes impossible to miss when 186 arrows are looking back at you. Alongside it, the insights dashboard shows daily arrow volume and session trends over 1, 7 or 30 days.
Coming soon: AI camera scoring In development
The next big update is in active development: you'll point your iPhone at the target and on-device AI will detect the face — FITA, Vegas 3-spot or vertical 3-face — outline every arrow, and score the end for you to confirm. Camera-scored impacts will flow straight into the heatmap. It will ship in a free App Store update; see a preview on the home page.
More than a score sheet
Because the watch is on your wrist while you shoot, every scored arrow also carries heart rate, hold time and calories weighted by your bow's draw weight and length. Bow presets record which bow shot which session, every practice lands in Apple Health as an Archery workout, and iCloud backup keeps your history safe — with no user accounts anywhere.
Requirements and pricing
Arrow Tempo runs on iPhone (iOS 17+) with an Apple Watch (watchOS 10+) for automatic counting. The download is free; ArrowCadence Pro adds premium scoring, the signature heatmap and the haptic cadence trainer for $4.99/month or $34.99/year, with a 2-week free trial.
Frequently asked questions
What's the best way to track archery scores on iPhone?
Arrow Tempo's drag-to-place scoring keeps it visual: drop the target, drag each arrow to its impact, done. Scores, X-count and averages are kept per session and feed the long-term heatmap.
Can an app score my target automatically with the camera?
Arrow Tempo's AI camera scoring is in active development and will ship in a free App Store update — on-device detection of the target face and every arrow, with you confirming each end. Until then, scoring is quick drag-to-place.
Does it work for recurve and compound?
Yes. Standard 10 and X rings, configurable distance and arrows-per-end, and bow presets that keep each bow's draw weight and draw length with every session.
